PROMOTING SAFE AND RESPONSIBLE RIDING

FOOD FOR THOUGHT FUNDRAISING RIDE 2009

Northumberland and District ATV Riders are happy to announce that our fundraising ride for the Northumberland Food For Thought Student Nutrition Program held on October 3rd, 2009 was a huge success.

Northumberland Food for Thought Student Nutrition Program provides breakfast to over 2,100 students per day in 35 schools throughout Northumberland County.

Through the generous donations of our sponsors, the volunteer’s hours of our workers and the participation of our riders we are pleased to announce that a total of $2,100.00 was raised.

TOTAL FUNDS RAISED FOR THE SCHOOL BREAKFAST PROGRAM TO DATE IS $5,700

Northumberland and District ATV Riders Executive and Northumberland Food For Thought thank all of our sponsors, volunteers and participants for your generosity.  Without all of you this would not have happened.

We look forward to everyone’s participation again next year.

Sincerely,

Northumberland & District ATV Riders Executive

YOUTH RIDER ATV SAFETY INSTRUCTOR TRAINING
On March 28th 2009, members of the Northumberland District ATV Riders Club and the Kawartha ATV Association underwent a training course to become youth ATV rider safety instructors.  The objective of the program being launched is to meet with area youths, through school programs and various club sessions, and teach them ATV rider safety and education.

Instructors are now in the process of developing an effective, educational and informative program that will soon be available in the Nothumberland area, so please stay tuned!

Effective January 1, 2009 a new ATV Trail Pass came into effect

The Trail Pass is called the Trillium Trails Network Gold Permit
The new permit fees effective January 1, 2009 are:

Yearly  $140.00

Daily  $20.00

Weekly  $75.00

The reason for the increase in permit fees are:

The partnership of the EOTA & the OFATV with the Ontario Trails Council.  With this amalgamation comes increased administration fees for the operation of the organization.

The pass continues to be valid for a year from the date of purchase and allows members to ride on any EOTA or OFATV trails in the province as well as Quebec FQCQ Trails.
